What is Paint Correction? It is the process to mechanically polish surface defects of your vehicles paint. This process can require multiple steps which include different pads and polishes to achieve an extremely brilliant, deep, glossy finish. Defects are swirls, scratches, etching from sap, bird bombs and bugs. Todays paint thickness is very thin A typical factory paint job will measure between 4.0 mils and 6.0 mils. The clear coat will generally measure between 1.5 and 2.2 mils thick. which can be less than a piece of printer paper.
